As seen in this article hope that there shall be a breakthrough in East Africa's strong poaching problem in the next year is strong. This problem of poaching has been a long fought issue with poachers somehow escaping imprisonment with "lost files" and other loop holes. Due to this over twenty three percent of poaching cases have been dropped or dismissed for lack of evidence and other poor excuses. This new hope is mainly due to the newly elected Tanzanian president, John Pombe Magufuli, who is taking an aggressive approach against poaching and corrupt politicians.
