As can be seen in this article, China's president, Xi Jingping, has made a commitment to limit and put a price on China's greenhouse gas emission. This commitment is called the cap-and-trade system and will hopefully change the rate of climate change due to China being one of the biggest polluters and users of fossil fuels. Part of the reason Xi Jingping has decided to do this is due to the large complaints from Beijing residents and residents of surrounding turns of the extremely thick and dangerous air pollution that constantly plagues them Another reason steps are being take is that it would prove to be more cost effective to the coal burning giant.
As can be seen in this article, a rising concern that has arisen, due to the massive wild fires spreading over California, would be the danger posed towards the many native sequoias. Though many precautions have been taken most experts still show little to no alarm over the trees for they state that sequoia have natural insulation and have adapted to endure wild fires and even depend on them to fertilize and repopulate.
In this very article, the Middle East is suffering from a gaunt raging sandstorm that has killed 2 people and hospitalized a multitude of others. This sandstorm has masked visibility down to 500 meters and has caused a temporary halt in air strikes and combat. The sandstorm is larger than any that have occurred in a while and has appeared out of its usual season.
As can be seen in this article a rising concern is the amount of plastic sea birds are consuming. Due to the steady increase of plastic production, that doubles around every eleven years, sea birds everywhere have been effected. Plastic consumption by these birds causes punctures in their internal organs, weight problems and a lack of room in their guts for real food. Plastic is one of the main causes for the 67% decline in seabird populations and without any effort the numbers will continue to drop.
