As could be seen in this text due to recent study if we could simply stop the raise of the climate temperature at 1.5 instead of 2 degrees it could dramatically curb the full effects of global warming. dramatically curb water scarcity in the Mediterranean region, help save tropical reefs, allow more wheat to grow in West Africa, and significantly shorten heat waves, according to a new study by European researchers.

As could be seen in this article. Our little helper bees perhaps now have a fighting chance against their dangerous drop in numbers. The garden-care giant Ortho removed neonicotinoids, the toxin recently believed to be the cause for the bees' decline from the majority of its products used to control garden pests and diseases. It plans to remove it from all the rest in two to five years. This overall is great news for bees and those worried for their wellbeing and the wellbeing of us humans as our crops were put at risk.
As shown in this article recently a rare Sumatran rhino has been seen and captured for the first time in over forty years. This has been seen as an exciting event and a great step forward for the species conservation. The rhino has been airlifted to a safer enclosure where they hope to use her to save her species. Now the smallest rhino has hope to survive.
As can be seen in this article The spread of the Asian snakehead has begun to strike fear in people. It was first discovered in a pond in 2002 and has since then spread through out Potomac River system, upper Chesapeake Bay, and The Great Falls, Washington. This steady progression has been met with much resistance from locals who go out of their way to try to fish as many snakeheads as possible. They have even gone as far as having a snakehead fishing "derby" in order o raise awareness of this invasive species. Some of people's biggest fears are that the snakehead will out compete the largemouth bass and cause other local species to become extinct. These worries seem to be misplaced though for the snakehead has a varied diet so it doesn't outcompete other fish and reproduces only twice a year compared to other fish. Basically the snakehead is being dealt with the appropriate amount of caution and more measures have been enacted such as the ban on releasing, keeping, or transportation of live snakeheads.
.As can be seen in this article some countries have begun to look towards solar roads. Solar roads are simply roads with durable solar panels laid on top of existing asphalt that can support the weight of a semi, provide light up symbols on the road and melt away ice and snow. Countries such as France, the Netherlands, and the US are already testing out these solar roads. Though there is still unrest due to cost the the constant repair people fear these panels will need
In this article, it can be seen that certain biologist, such as Dov Sax, believe that invasive species might not be as bad as they are made out to be. He compares the frantic killing and replacing ov these nonnative species to a religious genocide and says that when people don't know what to do they turn to killing. Now a growing number of scientist are challenging this view and saying that not all invasive species are destructive to the native flora and fauna. Another argument against the frantic measures against invasive species is that native flora and fauna are being forced out of their natural habitats anyway due to climate change and believe a more nuanced way of going about finding out if an invasive species is harmful or not is needed.
A seen in this article, a team of scientists led by Carnegie's Rebecca Albright and Ken Caldeira performed the first-ever experiment that seawater chemistry on a coral reef community. This experiment is to determine that the excess amounts of carbon dioxide release we humans are outputting effects the oceans. So far their results have proven the acidificatinon of the ocean and that the acidification of the ocean is slowing coral reef growth .
As could be seen in this article recently the population of Leptodactylus fallax, otherwise known as the mountain chicken, has made a comeback. Due to the hunting and the poisoning of the species by the chytrid fungus which has decreased its native population by eighty percent. A couple dozen were taken and transferred to zoos in both Britain and USA where they have raised their population levels. Now some of the toads bred in habitat have been relocated back to try to reintroduce them to their natural habitat which has so far been hopeful.
As can be seen in this article renewable resources such as solar and wind have been thriving despite the drop in oil and gas prices. This is partially do to the fact that prices for renewable energy have also dropped along with oil and gas prices due to government incentives and that demand for these renewable resources has also risen. These resources also have high corporate support which helps it continue to thrive alongside oil and gas and may ultimately replace them. This shows to be a shining ray off hope that the change to renewable resources may not be such an impossible dream.
As can be seen in this article Brazil's federal police has accused seven people and three companies, one which is the mining giant Vale for the major Samarco’s Fundão dam collapse in Brazil which released a flood of sludge that buried the surrounding rural villages, killed 19 people and polluted more than 400 miles of the Rio Doce basin. This has caused roughly $5 billion in civil lawsuits for the blamed companies and the Federal Police cited several elements of Brazil’s environmental-crimes law as grounds for its accusations.
